Synopsis
Nate Busco has spent 12 of his 17 years racing. Exhausted by the transition from one foster home to another, he now lives in his car, eating corn on the cob and using track practice as an opportunity to shower. When night falls, he can’t help but be different from the confident, irreverent persona at school. Alone, he is haunted by traumatic memories from his past. Enter Stan Dean, a popular high school drama teacher who is dealing with his own problems. He sees Nate’s hidden talents and his need for care and guidance that no other teacher has, and sets out to help. But in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested and taken away in handcuffs while he’s at school. Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only arranges bail, but also agrees to take Nate to his own home, despite the raised eyebrows of his fellow teachers. Stan is ready to help his troubled student. But the question is, if you’re not willing to help yourself, can you really help anyone?
